Weimar Beats Lady Leps

La Grange varsity girls basketball team lost to Weimar 34- 50 Tuesday in La Grange. “We made a lot of mistakes and turnovers,” head coach David Cooper said. “They didn’t break their (Weimar’s) press very well and gave them easy
buckets, which I think was basically the difference in the game.”

Hog Heaven: Big Guys Help Leps Feast on Competition

The name says it all. “We call them hogs,” said La Grange head football coach Matt Kates of his offensive linemen that have helped bulldoze the Leps to a perfect 12-0 start this season and a berth in Friday night’s state quarterfinal game against Gonzales. “It really is a good name for us because hogs go out and uproot everything and we go out there and try to uproot the D-line and linebackers,” said La Grange senior Zach Ledwik, who is considered by many scouts to be among the best tackles in the entire state of Texas, and has committed to play for Texas A&M next season.

Leps Improve to 12-0 With 61-24 Win Over Ingleside

on their first two drives of the game to match the Leps touchdown for touchdown. But eventually the Leps defense
started stopping Ingleside. But that’s not something the Mustang defense was ever able to do against La Grange. The
Leps didn’t punt at all Friday, scoring touchdowns on nine of their 11 possessions -- stopped only by the halftime
clock, and a second half fumble. “It all comes down to stopping the run, it doesn’t matter if they pass for 300 (which Ingleside did Friday, 305 yards passing by quarterback Tristan Barajas to be exact),” Kates said. “Stop the run and run the football like we did today offensively and good things will happen.” That proved to be true
