LG’s Zarr Wraps Up Her Stellar Career Playing for TLU Tennis

La Grange’s Caitlin Zarr wrapped up her college career at Texas Lutheran University by
being the most decorated tennis player ever at the school. Zarr, who had been playing tennis at La Grange High School before accepting a scholarship to TLU, had an overall college record of 58-36 in singles and 51-36 in doubles giving her 109 combined wins during her time at the school, making her the first ever member of the TLU Tennis Century Club.

Leps Looking to ‘Edge’ the Competition this Summer

The La Grange Leopard football team is honing their competitive ‘edge’ with organized workouts continuing through the end of the summer. The workout program, which head coach and athletic director Matt Kates calls “The Edge,” aims at getting the student-athletes in peak shape before football practice starts in the fall.

Weimar Golf Course Ranked in Top 25

A 75 year-old golf course adjacent to US Highway 90 east of downtown Weimar has been ranked in the Top 25 among nine-hole facilities in Texas. Weimar Golf Club was found at the number 17 spot in an issue of the Dallas Morning News.

LG Intermediate Baseball All-Stars Win District Title

The La Grange Intermediate American League All-Star baseball team won their six-team district tournament with a 14-4 victory over Columbus Monday at White Rock Park. The La Grange boys went
4-1 in the tournament and now advance to the sectional tournament in Smithville.

Two Lady Leps Named All-State

The Texas Girls Coaches Association has named two La Granger players to the All-State team: Sophomore catcher Hatti Moore and junior pitcher Missy Zoch. Moore hit .418 with 51 hits, 46 runs and 37 RBIs with a .987 fielding percentage
