Lady Leps Fall to El Campo

It wasn’t a win Tuesday for the La Grange girls basketball team, but there were some things to be enthused about in a 43-37 loss to El Campo, said Lady Leps head coach Amy Fritz. “I’m encouraged,” said Fritz. “El Campo is a good program and the fact that we played with them and had a chance to beat them tonight is good for our girls.

County Basketball Roundup: Bulldogs Win Home Tourney

The La Grange girls basketball team dropped both of its games last week to fall to 6-6 overall this season. The Lady Leps host El Campo Tuesday. The varsity game will begin about 7:30 p.m.

Leps Edge St. Michael’s by One Point

At times this season freethrow shooting has cost the La Grange Leopards victories. Tuesday, however, it was clutch shooting from the line that ultimately won the game for La Grange. The Leps went 7 of 10 from the line in the fourth quarter to

Four high school volleyball players from Fayette County have earned all-state honors from the Texas Girls Coaches Association. The all-state team was announced this week. La Grange junior Riley Fisbeck was named to the 4A all-state

Leps Edge Hardin-Jefferson 36-28, Head to State Quarterfinals

THE WOODLANDS – The2014 La Grange football team was tested like never before Friday. They responded like champions. Down by 14 points on two separate occasions, the Leps rallied to beat Hardin-Jefferson 36-28 in a 4A regional semifinal game before a post-Thanksgiving crowd of several thousand at Woodforest Bank Stadium. The victory vaults the Leps (13-0) into the regional finals this Friday against West Orange-Stark (11-2). That game is set for 7:30 p.m. at Conroe’s Moorhead Stadium

The Schulenburg girls basketball team downed Columbus 49-45 Tuesday. Shannon Mikesky led the Lady Horns with 21
points. Marilyn Davis scored 9, Sam Gabler 8, Halie Lewis 6, Carah Havrda 3, and Deadra Jackson 2.

Leps Beat RTC for First Victory of Young Season

The La Grange boys basketball team got its first win of the season Monday, downing Round Top-Carmine 73-49. The Leps (1-1) overcame a strong start by RTC, and pulled away over the final three quarters.
