More than seventy struggling families will get a chance to have a better Thanksgiving this year, thanks to some generous work by the staff of St. Mark’s ospital. This marks the 15th year for the Thanksgiving Basket Project at St. Mark’s.

The Fayette County Extension Education (EE) Council met on Nov. 17 at the E.H. Kitchen located on the Fayette County Fairgrounds. President Vivian Krenek called the meeting to order and the pledges to the flags and EE prayer were said in unison.

La Grange Main Street and Visitors Bureau announced that La Grange Vision Center, located at 1630 W. State Hwy. 71, is the most recent recipient of a sign grant. The business used the grant funds to revamp their exterior lighted sign as well as the window decals.

The La Grange VFW Auxiliary honored Senior Girl Scout Troop 144 at their October meeting by giving framed citations to two of their members. Troop Leader Jan Haynes introduced Senior Scouts Jaycee Olenick and Juliana Haynes.

The regular meeting of the Court Queen of the Holy Rosary No. 2282 was called to order by Regent Brenda Fietsam on Oct. 12, at 7:20 p.m. in the Hostyn dining hall. The meeting was opened with the CDA prayer and pledges to the American and Texas flags.
