Hostyn Catholic Daughters Hold May Meeting

Hostyn Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Queen of the Holy Rosary, No. 2282 met Monday, May 12 at 7 p.m. in the
parish hall with 13 members and one guest. Regent Brenda Fietsam led the opening CDA prayer and pledges to the American and Texas flags.

AMEN Receives Donation

KJZT Catholic Family Fraternal of Texas presented a $200 check to AMEN Food Pantry on Monday, May 12. Society Holy Rosary #23 of Hostyn members Helen Janda, treasurer, presented the check to Marceil Prestridge, an AMEN representative, Verlene Kuntschik, secretary, and Lillian Kallus, president looked on. This was a rebate from the state office for donated items from St. Joseph’s Table.

Sacred Heart First Communion

At a special Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, Sacred Heart Catholic Church celebrated First Communion with 24 children from both the Sacred Heart School and the Sacred Heart Church Religious Education Program.

The quarterly meeting of St. Frances of Rome Society 31 La Grange, Catholic Family Fraternal of Texas – K.J.Z.T., was held at the Sacred Heart Center on Thursday, May 8. President Marilyn Kothmann called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. and led members in prayers for Society 31 living and deceased members and in the Pledge of Allegiance to both the U.S. and Texas Flags

members serving on the committee: Barbara Eilert, Sharon Chovanec, Sherry Callis, Pam Carpenter, Alice Chernosky,
Mary Ann Coufal, Cindy Dippel, and Melinda Dunk.

Sacred Heart Altar Society Meets

The Sacred Heart Altar Society members met on April 7 in the Sacred Heart Center. President Karen Janda opened the meeting and led members in the opening prayer. There were seventeen members in attendance. The treasurer and assistant treasurer gave their reports and a total of seven thank you notes were read by the assistant secretary. A verbal thank you was also passed on to the members
