of Lonnie and Sharon Dittert of Schulenburg were married Oct. 19, 2013 at Carby Chapel at Lutherhill. Pastor Brad Otto

FotoFest, founded in Houston in 1983, celebrates world-wide photography every two years with multiple exhibits and lectures. The biennial Houston-based event also includes satellite exhibitions and this year three Fayetteville galleries are part of this internationally recognized event

Cattlemen Gather For Dinner/Tradeshow

CVICA Chapter held their annual dinner at the KC Hall in La Grange which brought in over 600 cattlemen and their wives. The yearly gathering included a tradeshow and live auction. The tradeshow sponsor this year was M-G, Inc. of Weimar. The 2014-2015 Officers were recently elected at the monthly meeting in January. Les Mallory of Round Top will continue to serve  as chapter President for an additional term

K.J.Z.T. Society No. 31 Meets, Hears Speaker, Makes Donation

On Thursday, Feb. 13, members of Society 31 La Grange, St. Frances of Rome, and Catholic Family Fraternal of Texas – K.J.Z.T., met for their quarterly meeting in the Sacred Heart Center. President Marilyn Kothmann called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. and led members in opening prayers and the Pledge of Allegiance to both the United States and Texas flags

KC’s Announce Domino Winners

The La Grange KC’s held their annual domino tournament on Sunday, Feb. 23 with 28 teams represented.  Winners in the “42” tournament were: 1st – Kay Lorenz and Evelyn Parker of Winchester and 2nd – Nelson Zoch and Al Hirsch of Northrup.

Veterans of VFW No. 5254 and Ladies Auxiliary attended the quarterly District 28 VFW meeting at the Leander Post  #10427 on Sunday, Feb. 16. Thurman Officer of the Day; from the Post and President Twila Thurman, Jr. Vice President Barbara Brauner from

Hostyn Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Queen of the Holy Rosary No. 2282 held their annual Valentine dinner,
Monday, Feb. 10. Happy hour social began at 6:30 p.m. and dinner was at 7 p.m. Special guests recognized were Rev. Dan Kahlich, Chaplain, Terri Wagner-District Deputy and her husband Bill, Cynthia Novak-State Ways and Means Chairperson, Richard Hoelscher and Doug Janda of the Hostyn Green Houses. Regent Brenda Fietsam welcomed everyone. Father Dan blessed the pot luck meal

14 Artists ‘Connected’ in New Exhibit

The 2014 Fiber Art show at the Copper Shade Tree Gallery in Round Top, entitled “Connected,” brings together the work of two Houston-area fiber arts groups: Fiber Voices and Out of Bounds. The exhibit features the individual works of 14 artists along with special pieces they created to illustrate the show’s theme: “Connected.”
