Hostyn Catholic Daughters Society No. 2285 Meet June 9

The Hostyn Catholic Daughters of the Americas, court Queen of the Holy Rosary No. 2282, met on June 9 at 7:10 p.m. in the
parish hall. There were 14 members present including Father Dan Kahlich. The meeting was opened with the CDA prayer and pledges to the American and Texas flags

the American Advertising Federation – Houston. The Chairman of the President’s Council, Leo De Leon, presented Dick with the award recently at a Houston luncheon

St. James Episcopal Church Welcomes Rev. Eric Hungerford

St. James Episcopal Church announces Rev. Eric Hungerford as the new Rector for their parish. Hungerford, his wife, Shyla and their 2-year-old son, Origen will move into the Rectory at the end of the month. Hungerford received his BA from Austin College in 2006 with a double major in History and Religious Studies

Fayetteville Brethren Church Celebration Slated June 22

The Fayetteville Brethren Church will have their 16th annual celebration on Sunday, June 22. The worship service starts at 10:45 a.m. at the church. A catered meal of turkey, ham and dressing with all the trimmings will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ellinger C of C Community Center. Meal tickets are $9 to eat in or take out and will be available at the door

La Grange Main Street Looking for Texas Treasure Nominees

The La Grange Main Street Advisory Board is seeking businesses to nominate for the Texas Treasure Business Award Program. This program recognizes the accomplishments of Texas businesses that have provided employment opportunities and support to the state’s economy for  at least 50 years. Created in 2005  by Senate Bill 920, the program pays tribute to the state’s wellestablished businesses and their exceptional historical contributions toward the state’s economic  growth and prosperity

St. Anne’s Society Donates To Religious Education Program

The Catholic Family Fraternal of Texas – K.J.Z.T. adopted a statewide Fraternal 100 Project that annually recognizes Diamond and Ruby Status Societies; and each year this project provides $100 from the State Office to each of the Status Societies.

Seward Hill in Austin. A reception followed with family and friends. The couple will be living and working in Austin

CDA No. 1962 Install Officers, Present Scholarships

Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Annunciation No. 1962 held their monthly meeting on Monday, May 26 at the Sacred Heart Center in La Grange.  Preceding the meeting a light meal was served beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the following members serving on the committee: Doris Citzler, Judy Evanicky, Marilyn Freedman, Krystal Dahse, Rebecca Deen, Kathryn Deters, Catherine Dillard, Gail  Dozier, and Sandra Ellison
