Confirmation Retreat

A Confirmation Retreat was held for thirty-two candidates from Sacred Heart, St. John the Baptist and St. Mary Catholic Parishes at Pax Christi Retreat Center on the weekend of Jan. 31- Feb.  1. K.J.Z.T. Society No. 23 Holy Rosary Hostyn Hold January Meeting

The Catholic Family Fraternal of Texas K.J.Z.T., Society No. 23 Holy Rosary Hostyn  members met on Saturday, Jan. 24 in the Holy Rosary Church narthex for their first quarterly meeting. President Lillian Kallus called the meeting to order. The
junior members led the opening prayer and pledges to the United States and Texas flags

On Jan. 26, Harold Pieratt of La Grange was named the Master Gardener of the Year at the Awards Ceremony for the Bluebonnet Master Gardeners. Pieratt is a retired Pharmacist from Giddings and has been a certified Master Gardener
since 2005.

National Lutheran Schools Week

Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool is celebrating National Lutheran Schools Week Jan. 26-Feb. 1. The national theme for 2015 is “Securing Each Child’s Future: Mercy Forever.” Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool is licensed under the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and is a full-year school offering Christian education to children ages two to five. There is an after-school program for children in kindergarten to second grade. Each week begins with a chapel service beginning at 9:30 a.m. with Pastor William Qualman leading the service.
