Samaniego, Kahanek To Wed

Bil and Mary Jane Kahanek of McDade announce the engagement of their son, Chris Kahanek, to Lourdes Samaniego,
daughter of Edmundo and Norma Samaniego of Tucson, Ariz. Grandparents of the Groom-to-be are the late Anton J. and Bessie V. Havelka of Hostyn, and Betty A. Kahanek of Smithville and the late Benno J. Kahanek. Grandparents of the bride-to-be are Clementina Manteca and the late Jesus Antonio Manteca of Cananea Sonara, Mexico and the late Eduardo and Maria Samaniego of Chihuahua, Mexico

Hubbard, Akor Wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hubbard announce the recent nuptials of their son, Willie Hubbard to Charlotte Akor, daughter of Martin and Barbara Akor of South Charleston, W.Va. on June 7, 2014 in Abilene at the Abilene Christian University Chapel on the Hill. Willie graduated from Abilene Christian University and works for Blue Bell Creameries.

Kids Take Over the Kitchen

Kids ‘N The Kitchen is back this summer at Le Petite Gourmet Shoppe in La Grange which means it’s time to cook.
Kids get to participate with young teachers and learn how to cook and prepare of unique foods. Classes began June 2 this
year and are held each Monday, Wednesday and Friday until August 1. Each class is $10 or $25 for the week (three
classes).

Big Group from Fayette Co. Tours Colorado

The Prosperity Bank Travel Club went by bus for a sightseeing tour of the Colorado Springs area earlier this month.
They visited the Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Anasazi Indian Museum, toured the Royal Gorge by Train, and saw Pikes
Peak, the Garden of the Gods, Cripple Creek and went to the Iron Springs Chateau Dinner Theatre

Hostyn Catholic Daughters Society No. 2285 Meet June 9

The Hostyn Catholic Daughters of the Americas, court Queen of the Holy Rosary No. 2282, met on June 9 at 7:10 p.m. in the
parish hall. There were 14 members present including Father Dan Kahlich. The meeting was opened with the CDA prayer and pledges to the American and Texas flags

St. James Episcopal Church Welcomes Rev. Eric Hungerford

St. James Episcopal Church announces Rev. Eric Hungerford as the new Rector for their parish. Hungerford, his wife, Shyla and their 2-year-old son, Origen will move into the Rectory at the end of the month. Hungerford received his BA from Austin College in 2006 with a double major in History and Religious Studies

Fayetteville Brethren Church Celebration Slated June 22

The Fayetteville Brethren Church will have their 16th annual celebration on Sunday, June 22. The worship service starts at 10:45 a.m. at the church. A catered meal of turkey, ham and dressing with all the trimmings will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ellinger C of C Community Center. Meal tickets are $9 to eat in or take out and will be available at the door
