Muras Donates Toy Tractors

Local farmer and retiree Bernard Muras recently visited Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus in Katy, and brought with him a collection of toy farm tractors. Mr. Muras donated these tractors to Texas Children’s Hospital for the benefit of its patients and families. He has been an avid collector of toy farm tractors and equipment for many years and was enthusiastic to share his love of these items with others. Pictured standing next to Mr. Muras and receiving the gift on the hospital’s behalf is Mr. Len Forsyth, volunteer at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Herbal Forum to Celebrate 20th Year

On March 20 and 21 the Round Top Festival Institute and the Herb Society of America, Pioneer Unit will host the 20th Annual Herbal Forum at Round Top on the Festival Hill campus. The theme for this year’s event is “Savoring Herbs” and Savory, the Herb of the Year for 2015 will be highlighted, said Garden Director and 12-year employee at Festival Hill, Henry Flowers. “The Herb of the Year is selected by the International Herb Association.”

Houston Earns Masters

Whitney Houston, a 2009 graduate of La Grange High School, graduated with her Masters Degree in Accountancy from The
University of Houston on Dec. 19. She is the daughter of Bobbie Houston of La Grange and David W. Houston of  Schulenburg. Whitney has already begun working for a firm in Houston.

most successful businesses. Joining them for one more scoop are Denise McBride, club president, and Sarah Bertsch of the
program committee. The Rotary Club meets each Wednesday at the Texas Czech Heritage Center.
