Emilie Mae Ritter

Emilie Mae Ritter, 92, of La Grange died Nov. 23, 2013. Emilie Mae Schubert Ritter was born on Dec. 10, 1920 in La 
Grange, the daughter of the late Gustav and Mary Schubert. On March 6, 1945 she was united in marriage with Willie Otto Ritter. They were married almost 57 years. She was a homemaker who loved gardening, sewing and cooking for her family. She and her husband loved to polka dance and were members of Polka Of A. She was a member of the Mt.  Calvary Lutheran Church. She is survived by two daughters and three sons; Johanna Ritter and companion Johnny Parker of Spring, Kathy Kay and companion John Laxson of La Grange, Delwin Ritter and wife Sharon of Spring, Kenny

Nelson Otto Muske

Nelson Otto Muske, 83, of Katy, formerly of La Grange died on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013 at Grace Care Center in Katy. Nelson was born in Shelby on Oct. 5, 1930, the son of Bruno and Elda (Ziese) Muske. He married Leda Mae Keilers on
Nov. 30, 1952 at St. John Lutheran Church in Warrenton. He was baptized on March 14, 1932 by Rev. Carl Baer in
Waldeck and confirmed on Sept. 10, 1944 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shelby by Rev. Julius Borshard. Nelson served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant First Class in 1954. Nelson was an Assistant Foreman for the Texas Highway Department and retired after 35 years of service. He loved the  outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a cowboy most of his lifetime. He is survived by his wife,

Billy Mike Roberts

Billy Mike Roberts, 84, and Bobbie Jean (Beran) Roberts, 79, of La Grange, died unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013.
Billy Mike was born in La Grange on March 26, 1929, the son of Michael Benjamin Roberts and Evelyne (Mennike)
Roberts. Bobbie Jean was born in La Grange on May 22, 1934, the daughter of Bob and Leona (Zaskoda) Beran. Billy Mike and Bobbie Jean were married on July 18, 1954 in La Grange. Billy Mike enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Aug. 11, 1948 and was honorably discharged on July 30, 1952. Billy Mike worked for the Texas Highway Department as an Engineering Inspector and retired on May 31, 1987 with 33 years of service. He was a lifetime honorary member of the Knights of
Columbus. He was a member for 47 years and achieved 3rd degree knight status. Bobbie Jean was raised in Ellinger
and moved to La Grange when she and Billy Mike married. She graduated from Southwest Texas State at the age of 20.

Ann (Decker) Reistle, 75, of La Grange, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Eugene Joe Fajkus

Eugene Joe Fajkus, 83, of New Baden died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 at his residence. He was born on July 29, 1930 in Praha to Jim and Annie Fajkus. He married Lorine Psencik on June 1, 1954. He was an inspector before his  retirement. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He had been a resident of New Baden for the past 25 years previously living in Houston. He attended the St. Francis Catholic Church in Franklin. He was preceded in death by his two sisters: Sybil Tupa and Mary Ann Luna, 2 brothers: Edward Fajkus and Ivan Fajkus, Daughter-in-law: Becky Nichols Fajkus. He is survived by his wife; sons, Michael Fajkus, Anthony Fajkus and wife Dianna, Brian Fajkus and wife Tawni; brother, Ben J. Fajkus and wife Alice; six  granchildren, Anthony Fajkus, Jr., Kimberly Fajkus, Weston Fajkus, Kyle Fajkus, Lyndsi Fajkus and Heather Brockus; and four great-grandchildren. A visitation was held on

Elsie A. Weishuhn

Elsie A. Weishuhn, 95, of La Grange, died Nov. 13, 2013. Elsie Minnie (Albers) Weishuhn was born on June 17, 1918 at Waldeck, the daughter of  the late Adolph and Marie Fiedler Albers. She was baptized on Jan. 1, 1923 by the Rev. Carl Baer, who confirmed her on Sept. 6, 1931 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waldeck. On Dec. 16, 1937 she was united in marriage with Wilton Weishuhn by the Rev. Carl Baer. They were married almost 62 years. She was a  homemaker, loved gardening, making quilts and cooking for her family. She was a lifetime member of the Waldeck Evangelical Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for 28 years sang in the church choir and was a Guild officer time and again. Leona Barbara (Mulner) Roitsch

Leona Barbara (Mulner) Roitsch, 82, of La Grange, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at St. Mark’s Medical Center. Leona was born in Shenandoah, Pa. on Oct. 27, 1931, the daughter of Joseph and Sadie (Tach) Mulner. While working at the Pentagon, she met the love of her life Clarence “Tex” Roitsch. They married on May 5, 1956 in Portland, Oregon.
