Robert Daniel Kelly

Robert Daniel Kelly, 64, died Saturday Jan. 3, 2015. Danny was born Aug. 20, 1950 in McAllen to Bob and Kay Kelly. The oldest of three children, Danny grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and first  worked in a variety of positions relating to agriculture, produce and cotton. He later began a career with Baroid Drilling Fluids ultimately advancing to Material Control Manager for Halliburton Baroid Drilling Fluids in LaGrange. Danny married Marsha Kelly Sept. 14, 1971 and they were blissfully married 43 years. He is survived by his wife Marsha Kelly, son Robbie Kelly (wife, Melinda), brother Ronnie Kelly (wife, Deanna), and the light of his life, granddaughter Madelynn Lee Kelly and numerous wonderful family members  and friends.  Danny was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mike Kelly A Celebration of Life in honor of Danny was held Thursday Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. at First Christian Church in Mineral Wells.

Margaret Anne Sindt Hays

Margaret Anne Sindt Hays died on Dec. 30, 2014. She was born in Enid, Okla. on Jan. 16, 1930. She was the third child of Waldemar and Mildred Sindt. She was the widow of George Lee Hays. Margaret is survived by her three sons, Hugh and wife Kim, Kurt and wife Norma and Marc and fiancé Rae. She has one surviving brother, Jim and his wife Nicki; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Jean Ellen and her husband Allen.

Gary Lee Arms, age 80 of La Grange died on Dec. 29, 2014 at his home in his sleep after a lengthy battle with cancer.

David Meason Murray

David Meason Murray, 82, of La Grange, died from his battle with emphysema on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014 at St. Mark’s Medical Center. David was born in Dallas County on March 4, 1932, the son of Robert John Murray and Helen (Meason) Murray. David received both his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy.
David served as Fayette County Attorney and Fayette County Judge from 1966 to 1974. He then spent 35 years in the oil and gas business. He was married to the late Margaret Vacek Wood and had three daughters. Later he married Oneita (Hopper) Murray. He is survived by three daughters: Lisa Murray Kana and husband, Charles, of Houston; Meg Murray Brown and husband, David, of Austin; Allison Murray Groppe of Houston; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Otto Carl Steinhauser

 Otto Carl Steinhauser, 89, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014 surrounded by loved ones at his home in Flatonia. Otto is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen, and their six children: Michael (Catherine), Chester (Suki), Randy “RJ” (the late Susan), Terri (Tom), Dale (Jamie), and Jeff (Stephanie). He leaves behind twelve loving grandchildren: Heather (Eric), Brendan (Randan), Annie, Nick, Megan (Lucas), Katie, Karl, Ted, Rachel, Alex, Lillieanne, and Chip; and two great-grandchildren: Karsyn and Cameron; with another great-grandson on the way. Otto was the youngest and the last remaining of his nine siblings. Otto Steinhauser was born on March 31, 1925 in Flatonia to Otto and Annie Steinhauser. His early years of schooling took place at String Prairie down the road from where he grew up. He attended and graduated from Flatonia High School in 1942, where he played football, basketball, track, and was on the debate team.

Audrey Avis McGill Boelsche

Audrey Avis McGill Boelsche died Dec. 25, 2014, with family present, in La Grange at the age of 97. Audrey was born July 12, 1917, to Vivian Hallmark and Willard L. McGill, in Killeen, the third of five girls. After graduation from Killeen High School, Audrey attended business school in Houston and came to La Grange working as office manager for Dr. Leslie D. Boelsche. In 1942 she and Dr. Boelshe were married. Although they  had no children, they were beloved aunt and uncle for the 13 nieces and nephews on both sides of their family. Holidays and other gatherings at their home on the bluff and their ranches in New Ulm; later in Durango, Colorado; and finally in Uvalde, are remembered and treasured to this day. After the death of her husband in 1990, Audrey remained active in the community, in First  nited Methodist Church, and in supporting the establishment of St. Mark’s Medical Center. Audrey had a vast network of friends with whom she enjoyed traveling.

Georgia Mae Chryar Veloz

Georgia Mae Chryar Veloz, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully in her home on Dec. 26, 2014, surrounded by loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Artis and Dorothy
Collins; her brothers, Pat and Jeff Collins; and her sister, Bessie Fuller Collins. She is survived by her husband, Robert Thomas Veloz; her son, Ivory Moses Chryar, III; her daughter, Jacqueline Chryar Henninger; her grandsons, Dalton Neil and Tristan Lee Henninger; her brothers, Artis and Jessie Collins; her sisters Lois Andrews Fort and Sandra Kay Ramey. Through marriage she happily gained two daughters, Monica Veloz Molina, Annette Veloz Ruedas, and one son,

Mary Ann Ellis

Mary Ann Ellis of La Grange died Dec. 27, 2014 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange. She was born June 14, 1941
to Aaron Mathis and Ruthie Lee Coleman Mathis in Washington County. She married James Ellis Sept. 18, 1974 in La Grange. She is survived by her husband, James and sons James G. and wife Tanya and Michael D. all of La Grange; her mother Ruthie Mathis of Carmine, sister Ruthie Lee Powell of Carmine, sister Ida Mae Washington of La Grange, sister Marlene Shepard of Brenham, brother T.J. Mathis of Hempstead, brother Pretty Boy and wife Juanita Mathis of Bryan, seven grandchildren and two step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother. Visitation was held Thurs., Jan. 1 at Tommy E. Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Jan. 2 at Gay Hill  Baptist Church in La Grange. Tommy E. Taylor Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
