Milroy Kessler

Milroy Kessler, 90, of Pearland died Jan. 7, 2014. He was born March 7, 1923 in Burton to Paul and Lizzie (Klaus) Kessler. Milroy was baptized and confirmed at St. Martin Lutheran Church of Carmine. He attended Boundary School, and was a member of the first graduating class of Burton High School, later attending Blinn College. He was a proud WWII Veteran, serving in the 38th Bomb Squadron as an Electrical Mechanic. He was married to his loving wife, Jenny Joe (Runge) Kessler at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill, and they were married for 57 years. The couple later

Marvin Lee (Bobby) Otto

Marvin Lee (Bobby) Otto, 92, of La Grange died at his home on Jan. 8, 2014. Marvin was born on Nov. 11, 1921 in La Grange to Fred Vastine Otto and Addie Dornwell. Marvin married Mildred  Light on Dec. 24, 1942 in Carmine. He was a retired dairy  farmer, a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, First United Methodist Church, dance clubs, Farm Bureau, and a Director of the Brown Swiss Association of Texas. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; daughter, Bonnie Lee Friedrich and husband Vernon; son, Ronney Light Otto and wif  Linda; seven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; ten nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death
by his parents; brothers, Fred Otto, II and wife Berta, Ernest Gene Otto and wife Alfreida and Charles Otto; nephews, Fred
Otto, III and Monty Otto. Visitation was held Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral

Wella Mae Laura Hinze Behnke,

Wella Mae Laura Hinze Behnke, 91, of Carmine, died Jan. 6, 2014 at Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center in Brenham.
She was born the fifth child of Gustav and Alma Krause Hinze on June 16, 1922. She was baptized by Rev. A. H. Faulkenberg on Nov. 5, 1922, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top, and confirmed there Sept. 29, 1936 by Rev. Kralik. She attended the La Bahia School. On Nov. 19, 1939, she was married to Milton Behnke in Bethlehem Lutheran Church by Rev. Kralik. Wella Mae (Aunt Mae) was a homemaker and helpmate to her husband on the farm for most of
her life. She did work outside the home for a short period of time at Jake’s Eggs in Carmine, and as a custodian, along with Milton, for the Round Top-Carmine School. She was very handy with the sew- ing machine, sewing most of her

Clementine “Tina” Wostarek

Clementine “Tina” Wostarek, 82, of Columbus, died Jan. 9, 2014, in Columbus. She was born on Aug. 27, 1931, to Elo and Elizabeth (Goerig) Munsch in Fayetteville. On Nov. 25, 1954, she married Lawrence J. Wostarek. She was a homemaker, who loved cooking for her family and working in her garden, especially with flowers. Her hobbies were sewing and crocheting. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the KJZT. Clementine  and husband Lawrence took pride in cleaning St. Anthony’s Church and caring for the church grounds for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Frances Guenther and husband Thomas of La Grange; sons, Thomas E. Wostarek and
wife Lynn of Columbus, and Anthony Wostarek and wife Pamela of Georgetown; grandchildren, Matthew Guenther
and wife Misty, Angela Guenther,  Ryan Wostarek, and Kathleen Smith and husband Mark; great-grandchildren, Hudson

Della Mae Louisa (Giese) Lehmann

Della Mae Louisa (Giese) Lehmann, of Warda died Jan. 5, 2014 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange. A lifetime resident of Warda, Della Mae was born on May 20, 1926, the daughter of Louis A. Geise and Adelia (Falke) Giese. She was baptized on June 13,  1926 by Rev. G. Buchschacker and confirmed on April 2, 1939 by Rev. Paul C. Eifert. She  attended Holy Cross LutheranSchool, grades 1 through 8, and attended La Grange High School where she was a  member of the class of 1944. She married Robert Lehmann on Feb. 8, 1948 in Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda.

Carrie (Orsak) Hrachovy

Carrie (Orsak) Hrachovy, 96, of La Grange died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 at Monument Hill Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Carrie was born in Breslau on Jan. 8, 1917, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Novak) Orsak. She graduated from Breslau High School in May, 1934. Carrie married her first husband, Alfons Kresta on April 27, 1937 at Sacred Heart Church in Hallettsville. She married Jerome J. Hrachovy on Oct. 18, 1977 at Ascencion Catholic Church in Moravia. Carrie worked as a cook at Oakridge Smokehouse Restaurant for eight years. She was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Moravia SPJST Lodge, Hostyn KJZT #23, Catholic Daughters of the Americas #2282, Christian Mothers & Living Rosary. Carrie was very devoted to her catholic faith. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening

Royce Noel Peschke

Royce Noel Peschke, 80, of Paige died Jan. 3, 2014, at South Austin Medical Center. Royce was born to Willie R. and Olga (Mosebach) Peschke on Dec. 10, 1933 in the Grassyville community in Bastrop County. He was Baptized on April 22, 1934 and Confirmed on March 28, 1948. Royce served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, attaining the rank of Spec. 3. He  was married to Arlene Stahmer by Rev. Raymond Durst on June 21, 1959 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rutersville. He was employed for 36 years by BluebonnetElectric as a lineman. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Jan. 7, 2014 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings.Interment followed in the Giddings City Cemetery

David Winston Richter

David Winston Richter, 60, of La Grange, formerly of Columbus, died Dec. 30, 2013 in Columbus. He was born on Dec. 18, 1953 to Gordon and Hildegard (Severin) Richter in Columbus. David worked as a registered nurse for St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange. David is survived by his daughter, Erin Avis and husband Scott of Cypress; son, Brian
Richter of Houston; brother, Gordon Richter Jr. and wife Bernice of Weimar; and granddaughter Hadley Avis. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. Visitation was held Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Henneke Funeral Home.

Melissa Renee (Oppermann) Dockery

Melissa Renee (Oppermann) Dockery, 49, of La Grange, Texas, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 surrounded by her family
at Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas. She was born in La Grange May 28, 1964, the daughter of Delores Lila  (Quade) Oppermann and Fred H. Oppermann. She married David Dockery Oct. 16, 1982 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Grange. Dockery worked as the Controller for Colorado Valley Telephone Cooperative receiving her 30-year service award. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a volunteer for the Optimist Club and helped with the La Grange ISD scholarship program. She dedicated 25 years of her life helping the children of the community. She is survived by her mother, Delores Oppermann of La Grange; husband, David Dockery
