Doris Mae (Mutzie) Pazderny

Doris Mae (Mutzie) Pazderny, 86, of Fayetteville died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014. Doris was born in Waco, Sept. 3, 1927, the daughter of Fred C. Knippel and Wilma (Hetzel) Knippel. She married Ray Pazderny on Feb. 2, 1947 in Fayetteville.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother to her family. Doris is survived by husband of 67 years; daughter Kathy and son-in-law Victor Havran of Fayetteville; son Charles and daughter-in-law Marlene (Sumbera)
Pazderny of Sugar Land; grandson Patrick Havran of Bellville, Brian and wife Shelly (Acree) Havran of Bryan, and Jason Pazderny of Houston; and great-grandchildren Daxton and Zayda Pazderny of Houston. She was preceded in death

Bonnylin Le Allmon

Bonnylin Le Allmon, 88, of Schulenburg died Jan. 13, 2014 in Kaufman. She was born March 28, 1925 in Schulenburg to Thomas and Erna Nordhausen McBride. She was raised in Schulenburg and graduated in 1942. She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Anderson-Thompson and husband Michael of Collierville, Tenn., Patty D. Allmon Gray of Denton, and Sharla Vrzalik and husband Frankie of Kaufman; brother, Buddy McBride of Schulenburg; sister, Rene Sustr of  Schulenburg; grandchildren, Shelley Graney, Bradley Bain Allison Vrzalik and Madison Vrzalik; great-grandchildren,  Olivia Graney, Jacke Graney, Kelyn Bain and Kinlynn Gore. She was preceeded in death by a sister, Grace Rohan.Memorial services were held Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at 7 p.m. at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home. Gravised services were held Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Birdston Cemetery in Streetman.

Marie Julia Reiss Ivy

Marie Julia Reiss Ivy, 91, of West Point died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at St. Mark’s Medical- Center in La Grange. Marie was born in Fayette County on Oct. 25, 1922, the daughter of Fred Reiss and Annie (Pospisil) Reiss. She married Ross C. Ivy on June 21, 1941 in Plum. Marie was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters,
Altar Society, and the retired teacher’s association. She loved gardening and was an avid sports fan. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Gerald Buchta of Lake Texoma, daughter-in-law, Shirley Ivy of Angleton, son and daughterin- law Fred and Cynthia Ivy of Hungerford, one brother and sister- in-law, Henry and Eleanora Reiss of West  Point, 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death

James “Glen” Richardson

James “Glen” Richardson, Veteran of the United States Air Force and Rural Carrier for the United States Post Office of La
Grange, delivering mail in Winchester for 28 years died Jan. 28, 2014. He is survived by his brother Davis (Judy) Richardson; two daughters, Donna Schulze and Cheryl (Phillip) Anstead; step daughter, Dee Dee (Robert) Janecek; 30 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his true love Evelyne Richardson. Glen and his beloved Evelyne will be laid to rest together at a graveside Memorial at La Grange City Cemetery on Sunday Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. Fayette Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Katharine (Preusch) Matthews

Katharine (Preusch) Matthews, 90, of La Grange died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at Jefferson Place Assisted Living facility. Katharine was born in Germany on Jan. 8, 1924, the daughter of Henrich and Elizabeth (Wannamacher) Preusch.
She married Walter John Matthews on April 5, 1947 in Frankfurt, Germany. Katharine was a professionally trained seamstress and worked in the clothing industry for many years. She is survived by daughter, Heidi Stone and husband, Roger, of La Grange; son, Peter Matthews and wife, Brenda, of Homosassa, Fla.; son, Stephan Matthews and wife, Heni, of Palm Desert, Calif.; daughter, Karen Morgridge and husband, David, of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren: Taylor  Matthews, Jennifer Batchelder, Phaedra Morgridge, Renee Morgridge, Levi Stone; seven great-grandchildren: Kassandra, Seth and Logan Batchelder, Kara Long, Declan Bailey, Abby and Zachary Stone; nephew, Rolf Bauer

Darryl B. Johnson

Darryl B. Johnson, 80, died Jan. 28, 2014 in Houston. Darryl was born on Aug. 26, 1933, in Minneapolis, Minn. He spent much of his childhood and young adult years on the 5L Ranch in North Zulch which was owned by his aunt and uncle. 
Through the years, Darryl was active in Luther League, choir and financial teams at church. He attended Reagan High School and graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A. in accounting in 1955. Darryl was in ROTC at Reagan and UH, and achieved the rank of Cadet Sergeant. He served a short time in the U.S. Army before receiving an honorable  discharge for medical reasons. He was an accountant  by profession and a member of Faith Lutheran church in Bellaire. Darryl volunteered for Sharpstown Little League and Boy Scouts of America. He also enjoyed gardening. Darryl loved his grandchildren, his clients (who were like a second family), and his dog, Hunter.
