Jackson Honored for 50 Years in Journalism; Record Wins 10 Awards
Former Fayette County Record Editor and Publisher Larry Jackson was honored with a Golden 50 Award at the Texas
Press Association’s 135th annual Summer gathering in Corpus Christi Saturday. The award commemorates his more than 50 years of work in journalism, dating back to the summer job Jackson took in May 1962 at Firm Foundation Publishing House right after his high school graduation in Austin. From that point on, he never really left the publishing business.
