Rossie Lea (Bond) Hale, 78, of La Grange died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 at Monument Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Rossie was born in Jonesville, La. on Oct. 11, 1935, the daughter of Walter Carl Bond and Dena (Bounds) Bond. She
married Gene Hale on July 20, 1954 in Billings, Mont. Rossie worked as a Water Billing Supervisor for the City of Baytown for twelve years. Her major accomplishments were loving and caring for her beloved family. She is survived by her husband, Gene; two daughters: Laurie Hale and Roger Nafziger of Prosper; Christie Hale and Billy McGlaun of Cedar Creek; two sisters: Valerie Hattaway and husband, O.L., of Alexandria,  La.; Jimmie Sterle of Hutto; brother, Carl  Bond and wife, Flora, of Shreveport, La.; three grandchildren: Emilie Downs and husband, Josh; Kendall Andrus and Dallas Wilkinson; four great grandchildren: James Downs, Gabby, Rowan and Zalea Andrus; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-inlaw, Charles Sterle. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Graveside services were held at the Winchester Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1000, Austin, Texas 78767. Family and friends can view and sign the  guestbook online at www.lagrangefunerals.com. Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
