Ludmila “Lillian” Clara (Polasek) Gaertner, 78, of La Grange died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013 at her residence. Lillian was born in Fayette County on Aug. 1, 1935, the daughter of Gus and Agnes (Dirba) Polasek. She is survived by two sons;
Jesse Gaertner and wife, Debra and Frankie Gaertner and wife, Bridgette all of La Grange; two grandchildren, Samuel Gaertner and wife, Clara of Magnolia and Katrina Gaertner of College Station; six brothers, Bennie Polasek and wife, Mary Ann of Columbus, Robert Polasek and wife, Barbara of Ellinger, Henry Polasek and wife, Mary Le of Columbus, Gussie Polasek and wife, Theresa of Columbus, Daniel Polasek and wife, Cecilia of Buda and Frankie Polasek and wife, Debbie of Ellinger; three sisters, Georgie Krenek and husband, Billy of Katy, Margie Stancik and husband, Ray of
Columbus, and Diane Rutherford and special friend, Tony Graff of Columbus.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marion “Todd” Gaertner; brother, Johnnie Polasek; infant brothers, Jerome and Lawrence Polasek; brother-in-law, Gilbert and wife, Elizabeth Gaertner. Visitation was held on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Funeral Services were held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger at 10 a.m. on Tuesday,
Dec. 3, 2013. Burial followed at La Grange City Cemetery in La Grange. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or Hospice Brazos Valley.
