Christmas Traditions of Old

Seventy-plus years ago, Bernice Kahlich and her sister, Dolores, prepared for a visit from a very exciting, mystical figure before bedtime every year on Dec. 5. His name was St. Nicholas and he rewarded good boys and girls with treats, while his menacing cohort, Krampus Man, who was a devil with horns, left switches for children who had misbehaved.
